Our chemical peels are customized to your exact skin concerns, varying in intensity to reveal the youthful, bright skin you desire in a cost-effective manner. At our state-of-the-art med spa in Denver chemical peels are excellent for treating the following facial skin concerns:

  • Fine lines
  • Skin discoloration
  • Enlarged pores
  • Rough skin texture
  • Skin dullness
  • Age spots
  • Melasma
  • Uneven skin tone
  • Sun-damaged skin

What Is a Chemical Peel?

A chemical peel involves applying acid to the skin. This triggers a deep exfoliation process that rejuvenates the skin surface. As the uppermost layers of skin slough away, it reveals brighter, smoother, more even-toned skin. Our chemical peels are an ideal way to treat a variety of skin concerns as part of the non-surgical facial rejuvenation services offered at our two Denver med spa locations.

Types of
Chemical Peels

At Rejuvenate we strive to deliver the best chemical peels Denver, Golden and Colorado Springs can offer. We have a range of chemical peels that are suitable for nearly any skin type or concern you might have. We are proud to be your home for SkinCeuticals Peels in Denver and the surrounding areas. We offer:

Light Peels

Our superficial SkinCeuticals chemical peel immediately resurfaces your skin with little to no downtime. A customized blend of active ingredients lifts away rough, dead skin cells in minutes. It is suitable for nearly all skin types. A light epidermal peel is excellent for prepping the skin so it looks extra radiant ahead of special events. It is also a popular way to fix sun damage, dull skin, mild hyperpigmentation, and soften the look of fine lines. Instantly, your skin looks refreshed and healthy with a glow that you may not have seen over the last few years.

Medium and Deep Peels

Medium and deep chemical peels are better for correcting moderate to severe skin issues. The same ingredients are used as in the light chemical peel, however, the concentration of active ingredients is higher. This produces more peeling and a deeper level of exfoliation to dramatically rejuvenate the skin, but does require a longer recovery time. Consult with your skincare specialists at Rejuvenate to coordinate the exact strength of peel that is right for your needs.

SkinCeuticals Smart TCA Peel

The SkinCeuticals Smart TCA Peel is a TCA peel that rejuvenates skin with a premium selection of beneficial ingredients in less than one hour. Trichloroacetic acid (TCA) is the active ingredient in the Smart TCA treatment. TCA for skin helps to smooth out fine wrinkles, reduce blemishes, and correct discoloration and sun-damaged skin. After about one week of peeling (depending on TCA concentration), the result is beautifully renewed, clearer skin tone and texture.

SkinCeuticals Advanced Corrective Peel

The SkinCeuticals Advanced Corrective Peel is a powerful facial peel that addresses the most common skin concerns, including sun damage, fine lines and wrinkles, uneven skin tone, and rough texture. This peel's unique blend of acids and botanical extracts work together to exfoliate dead skin cells, stimulate collagen production, and improve overall skin health. This peel is ideal for those looking for a more intensive treatment to improve the appearance of their skin.

How Much
Will My Skin Peel After a Chemical Peel?

It depends on the peel strength. Skin peeling after most types of chemical peels is expected. The more concentrated the peel, the more peeling is likely to occur. With light facial peels, peeling is minimal. For basic peels with a low concentration of active ingredients, the skin may not peel at all, but your face will look instantly refreshed with a signature glow. Just because your face didn’t peel does not mean you didn’t get effective treatment. Not everyone peels with chemical peels. There is no downtime with a light to medium chemical peel.

Moderate-strength to deep chemical peels may cause your skin to peel for 5 to 7 days on average. This is a good thing! That means the peel is working. The skin often starts peeling within the first 2 to 3 days after treatment. The strongest chemical peels, which provide the most dramatic before and after chemical peel results, are usually reserved for patients with advanced skin aging and pigmentation concerns. Most Denver chemical peels patients do not need a deep peel to see great results. Deep peels may result in crusting, flaking, and prolonged redness. The tradeoff is a dramatic skin rejuvenation that leaves skin looking years younger, reversing sun damage, textural issues, and diminishing the appearance of wrinkles and large pores.

The Dos and Don’ts of
Chemical Peel Recovery

After a chemical peel, following the aftercare instructions provided by your skincare professional is essential. Depending on the type of peel you receive, you may have some peeling and redness for a few days. It is important to avoid picking or scratching at the skin during this time. You should also avoid strenuous activity, sun exposure, and saunas for at least a week. Once the peeling has stopped, you can resume your normal skincare routine. Makeup can be applied once the skin has healed, typically taking 3-7 days.

The time you need to wait before you can participate in work and social activities will depend on the type of peel you receive. A light peel may only result in some redness, while a deeper peel can cause more extensive peeling and swelling. It is essential to discuss your specific case with your skincare professional to ensure you are following the appropriate recovery protocol.

What Does a Chemical Peel Feel Like?

Light to medium-depth chemical peels make your skin feel tingly for a few moments. There is virtually no discomfort. Deep chemical peels have a slightly more intense tingling or burning sensation that only lasts a few seconds. Most patients find chemical peels are well tolerated, and certainly well worth the results earned from this procedure.

Can a Chemical Peel Be Combined With Other Treatments?

Yes, absolutely. We have a full range of non-surgical services that can enhance your chemical peel results if desired. For a deeper level of exfoliation, a dermaplaning facial can be added to any chemical peel at an additional cost. Dermaplaning is an excellent way to promote better skin cell turnover, as well as remove unsightly facial hair. Rejuvenate also offers laser skin rejuvenation with the HALO hybrid laser system as an alternative to chemical peels.

We invite you to book a consultation with a personalized skin exam to learn more about the treatments that will best meet your goals. We can also refer you to our board-certified plastic surgeons, Dr. Vath and Dr. Wolfe, if you are interested in surgical facial rejuvenation treatments. While we may suggest other ways to achieve the results you are seeking, keep in mind the choice is ultimately yours. The recommended treatment plan and the full cost of services are provided during the consultation so that you can make an informed choice, guided by Denver’s elite skincare specialists.

How often can I schedule a chemical peel?

How often you should get a chemical peel done depends on how strong of a peel you want and your beauty goals. A light peel can be performed every 4-6 weeks, while a medium peel can be done every 4-6 months. A deep peel should only be performed once every 2-3 years.

It is important to give your skin time to recover between peels. If you schedule peels too close together, you may experience skin irritation, redness, and swelling. This can also lead to skin discoloration and scarring.

How much does a chemical peel cost?

The price you pay for a chemical peel will differ based on the kind of peel you get. For example, a lighter peel is going to be less than a deep peel because a deeper peel gets to more layers. It could also depend on how often and how many peels you book.
